Gary is SpongeBob's ever loyal pet snail, although his behavior in several aspects resembles a housecat. Gary was born to Sluggo the Snail, and a descendant of King Amoeba, making him rightful king of Bikini Bottom, although nobody knows this. Gary is very intelligent and literate, although, being a snail, he lacks the communication skills to convey this, and usually just meows. Interestingly enough, Gary is also the cousin of SpongeBob's best friend Patrick Star. Approx: 1.5” Tall
